Strona jest ciekawa i zazdroszcze tylu informacji o swoim rodzie. Samemu mi to chodzi po glowie (pochodzenie rzekomo tez mam szlacheckie... ;), ale czasu i motywacji nie starcza.

Just wondering if Popiel could be related to Puppel. I was able to trace my great grandparents to "Russian" Poland, which Adolph Puppel and his wife Caroline Haas left in 1878 for New Britain, Connecticut. Great to see my ancestry MY mother's maiden name is Popiel.She arrived in the states when she was 2(now 91)with my Bopcha Sophia Popiel and my Jadigw Vincent Popiel. A year ago today this site was initiated. I have spent years gathering all this information which I decided to share for free both with Popiels and not Popiels. The research required the knowledge of history of Poland and Ukraine and both languages and hours spent in the archives and libraries. I took trips to Sanok, Przemysl, Lviv and Krakow among other places. Helpful was also the New York Public Library. Wonderful site. I admire both the research and the design that went into this effort. My great-grandfather Wilhelm (William) Seidler was born in Filehne/Wielen in 1849 and emigrated to Berea, OH in 1873. My great-grandmother Wilhemine Koplin (Seidler) was born in Gross Drensen/Dzierzazno Wielkie in 1843 and emigrated to Berea, OH in 1865. Gohlke and Zisky are other family names of interest from the same general areas. I'd love to hear from anyone who has researched any of these family lines and compare notes. I learned of this site from my cousin Charles Gohlke of Hudson, OH. I grew up in Berea, OH but have lived near Seattle, WA since 1969.

I was happy to see this site. My mother and father immigrated from Poland in around 1948-50. My mothers maiden name was Rozalia Kolokowski and my fathers name is Pawel. I know I have relatives in Poland because when I was younger my parents would get letters form Poland. I don't know if the spelling is right but the town my parents where from was Scheblen or Berchzeny. Remember this was just after wwII and I believe some of the towns names where changed.If any one has any information please E-Mail me.
